Wil Card Week

Goal

Embroider my clothes with my dad's nickname

Materials and software

  1. Brother Embroider and sewing Machine
  2. Yarn
  3. Canvas Fabric
  4. Clothes

Starting up

  1. I signed up for a slot to embroider, but Alec got Covid the day i was supposed to start
  2. Luckily I had Ann to show me what to do physically and Alec was available via facetime
  3. Get the fabric canvas and tighly put it in the mold screw thing
  4. My design was simple so I could just print out the letters and spacing straight on the machine
  5. Hit go and the machine will do its thing.
  6. I needed to adjust cause I wanted the same print three times but the machine only does 1 at a time with how I was doing it

Sewing the Embroidery

  1. Alec said it may have a nice finish by putting the letters on the canvas fabric and then onto my clothes so that's what I ended up doing
  2. You want to sew as close to the edge of the canvas fabric to prevent it from coming apart
  3. I chose a wide stich cause of design and also to help it stay together
  4. Try a couple individual stiches
  5. Then rip it with the pedal to go fast
  6. Make sure to keep some tension before where its being stiched and its suprisingly easy to keep relatively straight
  7. Thanks Alec for all your help!

Final thoughts

  1. It was much easier than I thought it would be
  2. Highly considering finding a cheap used machine to embroider all of my Clothes
